Daniel Fredriksson has for many years been deeply involved with the Swedish folk- and world music scene, as a mandola- and luteplayer in constellations such as Sotali, Pettersson & Fredriksson, Ulrika Bodén Band and folkmetallers Otyg and Solsaate.

Occasionally, he has aimed for inventive takes on the musical storytelling tradition in productions such as the folk-horror show "Getaren", the audiovisual folk story "Så gick det en tid och åter en tid", and "The White Shawl".

He is also a music researcher with a Phd in Ethnology, and works as Senior Lecturer in Sound- and music Production at Dalarna University.
